Tests And More Tests... Great

"There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning." - Jiddu Krishnamurti

We have now hit the time where the tests are brought out and the reviews are piled high and all of us are freaking out. We have hit the point where our stress levels are super high. We all need a breather, but that is not going to happen for at least another 2 to 3 weeks.

Test taking is hard and draining on everyone. Some kids are pulling all nighters before the big test while others are frantically trying to get some sleep in before this big test while others are just blowing the test off thinking that they defiantly know everything that is going to be on the test.

Everyone is a different test taker, but we all can use some helpful pre-test taking tips so I am going to list some. (Please forgive me if you get totally bored with this, but I think that it is a really interesting topic and that many people could benefit from these tips.)

Here is a list of pre-test taking tips that you may want to know

1.      Eat – eat before the test so that you focus can be a 100 percent on the test instead of your stomach

2.      Go to review sessions – these review sessions are where you learn the most, I think, because you actually pay attention to the information and realize that you need to know what the teacher is talking about.

3.      Don’t try to pull an all nighter – you need at least 8 hours of sleep at night, but at least get 3 to 4 hours of sleep in before the test so that you will not fall asleep during your test.

4.      Show up 10 minutes before the test – this gives you enough time to get there and not be late, but not enough time that you start to freak out.

Everyone stresses about taking test, so here’s a list of tips for taking test

1.      Bring plenty of writing utensils – have at least 2 sharpened pencils with erasers on them

a.       This doesn’t really work if you are taking a test on the computer so… do accordantly

2.      Relax – focus on the test you are taking. If you are having a hard time relaxing, take a couple of deep breaths and you will be okay

3.      Keep track of time – pace yourself so that you do not rush and skip questions and answer the questions wrong

4.      Read the entire question – don’t just guess that you are answering the question right, make sure you are. After all, it is your grade.

5.      Double check your answers – you never know if you skipped over a question in your hurry to finish the test. This is where you double check that stuff so that you don’t lose points on something so small.

Anyways, I hope this was helpful even though it might have been a little bit boring. I promise next week’s post will be more fun. See you guys next week and good luck on your tests!
